Universal Outreach's beekeeping program is featured in the story Sweet Saviors of Biodiversity, by John Goodman and the USAID publication Resilient West Africa.

The West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Program (WA BiCC) knows the global importance of the greenbelt that covers over 40% of Liberia and they are working to encourage farmers there to reduce slash and burn agriculture in favour of income-generating activities that don’t destroy forests—activities like beekeeping.

Author David Goodman went to Liberia last year to write about the impact of beekeeping in Liberia. After some time absorbing his exciting beekeeping trip with our extension team he produced an encouraging story about how honey money is changing lives and forests in Liberia.
