Meet Faith: Bright Star Scholar and Change Maker

Bright Star Scholar Faith, a Marine Biology student at United Methodist University in Monrovia, is turning her education into action—and inspiring a movement along Liberia’s coast. Recently, she led a community-wide beach cleanup, rallying friends, neighbours, and local youth to restore one of Liberia’s most polluted beaches.

But Faith didn’t stop there. Motivated by her love for the ocean and her vision for a cleaner, healthier Liberia, she founded her own non-profit organization dedicated to marine conservation. With contagious energy and determination, she transforms her classroom lessons into community learning—teaching volunteers about the dangers of microplastics and how they harm both marine life and people.

“For me, this isn’t just about picking up trash—it’s about protecting something I love and showing others that one person really can make a difference.”

Faith’s story captures what Universal Outreach’s Bright Star Scholarship Program is all about—how education, opportunity, and heart combine to create young leaders who uplift their communities. When you support a Bright Star Scholar, you’re doing more than funding a degree—you’re unlocking potential.

Faith’s leadership and passion are living proof of what happens when someone believes in a young person’s dream. Every donation fuels a story like hers—one where talent meets opportunity, and the results ripple outward to inspire others.

Thank you to our donors who make this transformation possible. And to those yet to join us—now is the time to invest in Liberia’s next generation of change makers.

This is a really inspiring story because it shows how education can go beyond the classroom and turn into real impact in someone’s community. Faith’s journey as a Bright Star Scholar highlights how access to education, when combined with determination, can create meaningful change, especially in places where opportunities are often limited. The Bright Star Scholarship program itself seems to play a huge role in this by supporting students who are committed to learning and helping them continue their education despite financial challenges.  What stands out most is how Faith is not just focusing on her own success but also using her knowledge to contribute to something bigger, which is what true leadership looks like. Stories like this are important…

While researching medical education abroad, I noticed that MBBS in Kyrgyzstan often comes up in student discussions. Kyrgyzstan seems to offer a structured academic environment, and like any overseas option, it’s important to carefully check curriculum details, recognition, and future career requirements before deciding.
